Inauguration of Services for Certificates, Patta and submission of Grievance Petitions through SMS on 24.11.2008

           The service for getting various certificates, land patta and submission of public grievance petitions through SMS has been inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister for Tourism and Registration Thiru. N. Suresh Rajan  on  24.11.2008. The  function  was  presided  over  by  Senior  District  Collector  Dr. Rajendra Kumar, IAS.  For making available the benefits of latest technology to all sections of the public, with the keen interest of the Senior District Collector, the Scheme has been launched for providing various certificates and land patta copies by the Government and submission of grievance petitions through SMS.

          The public can send an SMS from their cell phone to the Number 54373 in the prescribed format for obtaining Birth Certificate, Nativity Certificate, Community Certificate, Income Certificate, Death Certificate and land patta copies.  They can also submit their grievance petitions to the District Administration.

         The nominal charges prescribed by the government for these services will be deducted by the BSNL from the cell phone account of the person, who sends the SMS.  The amount so collected shall then be transferred to the Government account. The public can save their valuable time and money which otherwise would be spent on transport, etc in visiting the taluk office and the Collectors office. They need not spend time and money on traveling to the Government offices for submitting their petitions and paying fees, etc. The certificates will be delivered through post by the taluk office and other Government offices after processing within a maximum of 7 days. The petitioners should be given reply through SMS when the certificates are dispatched.

How to use this SMS Service?

For obtaining Birth Certificate, the public should send an SMS in the format as below:
